Contents of daily food.
Rice : 1 year old, Good Quality Rice preferably scented. e.g. Basmati etc. Salt shuold not be used.

Roti : Made of good quality wheat, Bajra, Jowar, Corn can also be used occasionally but not regularly.

Dal : Moong dal, Tuvar dal, Occasionally ,Can use other dals or Kadhi.

Vegetables : Fruit vegetables like Brinjals, parvar, etc. Avoid leafy vegetables.

Chutney : Coconut, Sesame or Groundnut chutney along with ginger, garlic, lemon and black paper.

Green salad : Cucumber, Tomatoes, Onion, Raddish beet etc.

Soups : 1/2 before meals and 1/2 during meals to be taken sip by sip.

Unhealthy food combination.

Those which offer change in taste but are not healthy.

Foods,which are healthy if used singly, become unhealthy in combination with others.

Some regularly consumed unhealthy combinations:
Milk + Banana
Milk + Rice + Sault
Milk + Lemon = Chees, Panir
Milk + Curd + Rice
MIlk + Khichadi
Milk + Roti
Milk/ Butter + Tomatoes
Milk Shake
Fruit Salad
Vegetables + Butter
These even if consumed regularly do not seem to cause problems immediately due to a condition
called 'OOKSATMYA'.

If you eat :---------------Result

Very dry food :--------- Dry skin ,Dry joints, Low immunity, Early aging.
Excess liquids & oils :--- Frequent cold, Cough, Diabetes, Obesity.
Very saulty :----------- Diseseases of Skin and Eye.
Very sour :------------- Skin diseases, Early aging.
Very cold :------------- Tastelessness, Heavyness of body.
Too much sweet :------ Obesity, Diabetes, Heart diseases, Lazyness.
Diet is classified in different groups

Water Properties of different types of water.  
Sugar  Properties of Sugar, Jaggery, etc.  
Milk products  Properties of Milk, Curd, Buttermilk, Ghee, etc.  
Grains  Properties of types of grains avd pulses.  
Vegetables  Properties of types of vegetables.  
Meat  Properties of meat of all animals.  
Fruits  Properties of all fruits.  
Spices  Properties of all spices.

Always eat :

Wheat, Rice, Amla, Raw Raddish, Moong, Parvar, Sugar, Cow's Ghee, Milk, Honey, Black resins,Pomgranate, Mineral salt, Triphala and Divya jala.

Always avoid :

Curd, Fish, Paneer, Cheese, Salty, Sour sustances, Dry and cold foods, Fried and stale food.

How to eat food.
Always eat fresh cooked, warm food  - Complete and easy digestion.
Do change outside clothes before meals.
Sit (don't stand) in comfortable position and in one place (don't roam).
Don't seat in hall or on bed while eating.
Concentrate only on food don't read or watch T.V. while eating.
Fix and follow the timings of lunch & dinner.
Don't eat cold, refrigerated, rewarmed, stale or  half cooked food.
Don't eat very fast or very slow.
Drink water during meals only or 2 hrs. after meals.
Drink warm water in winter and cold water in summer.
The quantity of food should  be such that it will easily move and mix in the stomach along with sufficient water.
Don't eat anything for at least 3 hours after meals to facilitat complete digestion of previous food.
This period should not exceed beyond 6 hours.
Do's & Don'ts after meals.
Wash your hands and put the wet hands on your eyes.
Sit quietly in a comfortable position for at least five minutes.
Tambul sevan :Chewing of Pan with katechu, bettlenut powder, elaichi, clove, jaifal, saunf etc.(no tobacco and chuna. ) - Digestive and other properties.
Be in a comfortable environment, listen to music, do light work.
Take a brisk walk of at least 100 steps.
Do not sleep or over work after meals.
Avoid liquids after meals for about 1 hour.
Avoid travelling immediately after meals.
Reasons which affect digestion.
Excessive intake of water.
Irregular diet habits.
Improper food.
Suppressing of natural Urges like that of passing urine etc.
Altering sleep timings.
Irregular meal timings.
Psychological disturbances.
Feelings like fear, anger, tensions, stress, sorrow, jealousy, greed, discontentment etc.
Lack of concentration while eating.

Diet - Some important considerations

Almost 80% of the diseases we suffer, are due to improper diet & dietary habits.
Proper diet is the best medicine.
Cooking is for easy digestion and better assimilation of food.
 Passing urine & cleaning bowels before meals is a good healthy habit.
We should make changes in our diet according to climate, the area we live and work in, our digestive capacity, condition of our body, diseases if any etc.
While deciding the diet for a person 'Prakruti', 'Agni', 'Season', 'Area', and 'Liking' these factors are to be taken into consideration.
We should take our diet very seriously and should never make any compromise or should never eat irresponsibly.
